Position Summary:

The Employee Onboarding Coordinator leads the execution and continuous improvement of RK Mechanical’s 180-Day Employee Success Program, ensuring a consistent, high-quality onboarding experience across departments, roles, and locations. This position partners with managers, department leaders, Human Resources, and executive leadership to promote accountability and support employee engagement, safety, productivity, and retention throughout the first six months of employment.

Serving as the program owner, coach, and primary resource for onboarding, the Employee Onboarding Coordinator ensures established standards and milestones are consistently executed, monitors program effectiveness, and identifies opportunities to continuously improve the new hire experience.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and administer the organization’s new hire onboarding program, ensuring a consistent, engaging, and effective experience across departments, roles, and locations.

  • Ensure onboarding readiness, compliance, and completion of required milestones throughout each employee’s first 180 days in partnership with managers, Human Resources, and cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Coach, train, and support managers and supervisors in executing onboarding responsibilities, employee check-ins, competency reviews, and retention-focused conversations.

  • Coordinate buddy, mentor, and cross-functional learning programs that promote employee integration, organizational knowledge, and connection to company culture.

  • Monitor onboarding performance, retention, and program compliance using key metrics, employee feedback, and trends to identify risks, strengthen accountability, and recommend improvements.

  • Maintain and continuously improve onboarding standards, processes, tools, training resources, and department-specific materials to support evolving business and workforce needs.

  • Partner with organizational leaders and key stakeholders to align onboarding efforts with employee engagement, safety, productivity, retention, and broader business objectives.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 3–6 years of experience in Human Resources, talent development, employee experience, training, people operations, or a related field.

  • Demonstrated experience coordinating or managing a structured onboarding, training, or employee development program with responsibility for program execution, documentation, compliance, and outcomes.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple employees, milestones, priorities, and stakeholders simultaneously.

  • Proven ability to build effective working relationships and credibility with employees and leaders across field, skilled trades, and office environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence, coach, and hold managers and supervisors accountable to established people processes while maintaining collaborative relationships.

  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.

  • Proficiency with HRIS and document management systems and Microsoft 365 applications, including Teams, SharePoint, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Ability to analyze onboarding, retention, compliance, and employee feedback data and communicate findings and recommendations clearly.

  • Experience in construction, mechanical contracting, manufacturing, industrial, or another skilled trades environment preferred.

  • Experience administering a structured, multi-phase onboarding program with documented milestone and compliance tracking preferred.

  • Experience developing or maintaining onboarding and retention dashboards and analyzing employee survey data preferred.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills preferred.

Minimum Physical Requirements and Accountability:

  • Frequent and prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking within the facility.

  • Must be able to hear and communicate clearly and effectively in person, over the phone, and in virtual settings.

  • Manual dexterity is required to operate computer, keyboard, and standard office equipment.

  • Close vision is necessary for reading, computer use, and performing detailed tasks.

  • Occasional reaching, bending, stooping, or kneeling may be required.

  • Noise levels are typically low to moderate but may vary, particularly for roles that involve time in field or shop environments.

  • Possible exposure to typical manufacturing-related hazards in certain job locations.

  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures.

  • Consistent, punctual attendance during core business hours is essential.

  • This position is primarily office-based and located in the Denver Metro Area. Reliable transportation is required for commuting and occasional travel between local corporate offices and job sites during business hours.
