Job description

We are seeking a creative and passionate lead teacher for our Early Childhood program.  The candidate should have the following attributes:

  • Have enthusiasm to teach young children

  • A desire to learn

  • Ability to create a loving, nurturing and warm environment 

  • A desire to work alongside a great team

  • Familiarity with planning lessons with support provided

  • Understanding the basics of motor child development

  • Ability to develop a child centered classroom where children learn through play and exploration

  • Responsible for child and classroom assessment activities including recordkeeping,, child observations and portfolio development

  • Ability to communicate with parents, work collaboratively with colleagues and possess good interpersonal skills 

Qualifications

  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood/ Elementary Education and in the process of obtaining a Master's degree

  • Experience working with children under the age of six in an Early Childhood setting

  • Possess or be on track to obtain one of the following NYS teaching certificates:

    • Early Childhood (Birth -2)

    • Common Branch (N-6)

    • Students with Disabilities

  • This is a school year school day position

  • The school day starts at 8 AM and finishes at 3:50 with early dismissal on Fridays.
