Job description

A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As an Sr. Electronic Engineer at the Flow Solutions Business Unit, you will design, develop, troubleshoot and debug hardware and firmware for high accuracy flow and pressure measurement systems. You will support the development of new hardware subsystems, from specification to architecture, simulation, detailed design, component selection, layout, reliability prediction and test.
You Will Make an Impact By:
• Designing, debugging and board bring-up of analog and digital real-time embedded electronics for microcontroller-based control and communication hardware platforms using a combination of simulation, analysis, prototyping and testing.
• Design of analog and digital electronic circuits including low noise analog circuits, A/D and D/A converters, microcontroller, communications interfaces, low power linear and switched-mode power supplies.
• Select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability. May also review vendor capability to support product development.
• Evaluate the design to meet requirements factoring in performance, cost, reliability and manufacturability.
• Participate in project activities, including DFMEA, design reviews, and creation of technical specifications.
• Act as a technical interface to the manufacturing team for new product release.
• Support legacy products are required.
Skills You Bring:
• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering.
• 3+ years of exp and knowledge of electrical/electronic hardware design and ability to debug/test prototypes.
• Experience with the integration of hardware designs with both mechanical elements and embedded firmware, and knowledge of industrial network communications interfaces and protocols is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Proficiency with lab debug tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, boundary-scan/JTAG).
Nice to haves
• Experience using EDA/PCB tools such as Mentor Graphic DxDesigner
• Experience with EtherCAT, Modbus/TCP, and associated industrial communication protocols
• Experience with EMI/EMC regulatory testing with respect to design.

Compensation and Benefits:
Salary Pay Range: $101,675.00 - $169,475.00 per year. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.
Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
