Cardiovascular Technologist

Newport News, Virginia

Hiring Range

$34.40 - $47.30/Hourly Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.

Overview As a cardiovascular team member, is responsible for delivering a comprehensive range of services and clinical care tasks associated with and in accordance with the standards of excellence established by Riverside Health System policy and procedures. Performs a variety of duties related to cardiac catheterization, interventional radiology, neuro radiology procedures and OR hybrid angiography. Working within their defined skill sets, the technologist is flexible in the work assignments, rotates between all cardiovascular specialties and able to assume the responsibility for designated procedures, as assigned, with the initiative to apply ALARA standards as it aligns to their specialty Scope of Care.

What You Will Do

  • Assists with performing a variety of duties relates to cardiac catheterization, interventional radiology, neuro radiology procedures and OR hybrid angiography.
  • Rotates between specialties to meet operational and patient care demands.
  • Assesses patient needs throughout procedure; recognizes and responds to emergency situations. Delegates and prioritizes tasks to facilitate quality patient care and ensure all patient care needs are met.
  • Accurately verifies and performs all aspects of procedure tracking to include correct facility/room, bill only application, account verification.
  • Collaborates with physicians to provide for the specialized needs of patients. Recognizes and responds to variances of patient care/condition and appropriately notifies physician and team. Provides timely follow-up regarding requests and concerns utilizing SBAR process when applicable.
  • Participates and assists with training and support of all team members and students as needed.

Qualifications Education

  • Program Graduate, Radiologic Technology or Related Field (Required)

Experience

  • Interventional/Neuro Interventional radiology, cardiac cath lab, critical care or emergency/trauma experience (Preferred)

Licenses and Certifications

  • Radiologic Technologists - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Registered Radiologic Technologist Upon Hire (Required) or
  • Cardiovascular Credentialing - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) Registered Cardiovascular Technologist Upon Hire (Required) and
  • CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire (Required) and
  • ACLS Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) within 1-1/2 Yrs (Required)
