Job description

Since 1973, Pieros Construction Co., a Tecta America company, has been a trusted partner for commercial and industrial roof repairs and replacements. This is an exciting opportunity to join both the largest national and one of the most respected local commercial roofing contractors in the country.

We are seeking a Service Superintendent for our Somerville, NJ shop.

The Service Superintendent is responsible for leading and coordinating daily commercial roofing service operations, ensuring seamless communication between office administration and field personnel. This position oversees service technicians, manages work orders and schedules, maintains safety and quality standards, and ensures projects are completed efficiently, on time, and within budget. The Service Superintendent serves as a key liaison between the Service Manager, customers, and field teams to deliver exceptional service and operational excellence.

Job Functions:

Operations & Field Management

  • Lead, supervise, and support Service Technicians and field personnel.
  • Manage daily service operations, including repairs, maintenance, emergency service calls, and warranty work.
  • Oversee service tickets and active projects to ensure timely completion, labor efficiency, material control, and budget adherence.
  • Coordinate workforce scheduling and dispatch activities to maximize productivity and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure all open service tickets are scheduled, tracked, and completed in a timely manner.
  • Conduct regular field visits and jobsite inspections to monitor work progress and resolve issues proactively.
  • Schedule service work directly with customers and maintain professional client relationships.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact between field personnel, customers, and the Service Manager.
  • Communicate job status, delays, material needs, and project updates clearly and effectively.
  • Address customer concerns and ensure service expectations are met or exceeded.

Safety & Compliance

  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture throughout all service operations.
  • Ensure all service crews comply with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and reinforce safe work practices.
  • Investigate and report all accidents, incidents, near misses, and safety concerns.

Materials & Equipment Management

  • Coordinate material orders and deliveries to support service operations.
  • Ensure service vehicles are properly stocked with tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Monitor equipment condition and arrange maintenance or repairs as needed.
  • Manage inventory levels to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.

Quality Assurance

  • Monitor workmanship and ensure all work meets company quality standards and manufacturer specifications.
  • Conduct jobsite inspections and quality control reviews.
  • Provide coaching and technical guidance to service personnel.
  • Identify opportunities for improved processes, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of commercial roofing experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Superintendent, Foreman, or leadership role.
  • Experience managing multiple crews and service projects simultaneously.
  • Five or more years of Roofing Superintendent experience preferred.
  • Commercial roofing service and maintenance experience strongly preferred.
  • Valid State Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.

Compensation: $75,000 - $95,000 (DOE). Bonus Eligible
