Hours: 8hr Shifts Varied/Nights Mostly   

Location: Southern Regional Medical Center - Riverdale, GA 

We are seeking an Emergency Room RN Assistant Manager (ER RN Assistant Manager), also referred to as an Emergency Department RN Manager, Emergency Services RN Assistant Manager or Emergency Room Nurse Assistant Manager. The Emergency Room Assistant Nursing Manager will oversee the daily operations of the Emergency Services Department, ensuring safe patient flow, proper staffing, and compliance with clinical and regulatory standards. The ER RN Manager will support and develop nursing staff while collaborating with physicians and other teams to deliver efficient, high quality emergency care. ER RN Manager's also monitor key performance metrics, manage resources, and lead initiatives that improve patient outcomes and department readiness.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Emergency Department including patient flow, staffing coverage, and overall efficiency 
  • Supervise, support, and develop ER nursing staff through coaching, scheduling, performance reviews, and competency assessments 
  • Ensure adherence to clinical standards, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements such as Joint Commission and state requirements  
  • Works closely with physicians, charge nurses, and other departments to coordinate care during high volume periods, trauma activations, codes, and other emergencies 
  • Monitor key quality metrics like wait times, left without being seen rates, patient satisfaction scores, and clinical outcomes to drive improvement 
  • Manage budgets, supplies, and department resources to maintain safe, cost effective operations 
  • Lead or participate in training, onboarding, continuing education, and emergency preparedness initiatives 
  • Support patient safety by reinforcing best practices for triage, documentation, medication administration, and emergency protocols 
Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1.    Current and valid state Registered Nurse license.2.    Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.3.    Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.

4.    Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC required 30 days upon hire and maintain current.

5.    Previous supervisory experience, preferred.

6.    Minimum of one year as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital setting, E.D. setting preferred.

7.    Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certificate within 12 months of hire and Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) within 2 years of hire, preferred..

8.    Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.                                                                   FACILITY / UNIT TRAINING

1.     Professional Certification within 2 years of hire, preferred.
