Job description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for developing and maintaining a Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP) and accompanying Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) at the assigned work location. The position may also be responsible for developing and participating in Tribal wide emergency management programs and activities and will respond to emergencies and disasters. This position reports to the Assistant Director/Director for the Emergency Management Department or designee and is an exempt position. Employees in this position are expected to coordinate and manage operations with considerable independence, although all major decisions are referred to an administrative superior for advice and direction.


Bachelor ’s degree with at least two (2) years in Emergency Management, homeland security, military or public safety planning required; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Florida Professional Emergency Manager (FPEM) certification and completion of FEMA Professional Development Series preferred. Ability to pass a homeland security background check and possess a valid Florida Driver’s License. Proficiency in planning, data management and training activities, required. Excellent written, oral and presentation communication skills. Ability to travel to all Seminole Tribe of Florida reservations and other locations as necessary. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
