As TikTok Shop continues to grow, External Affairs plays a critical role in identifying emerging risks, managing real-time issues, and ensuring a safe, trusted ecosystem for both users and brands. We're looking for driven individuals to join our External Affairs team and help navigate this fast-moving environment while supporting the continued growth of TikTok Shop. Step into a dynamic role with the TikTok Shop External Affairs, where you'll play a vital part in our Social Listening program by detecting emerging risks. Be at the forefront of innovation, contributing to proactive insight surfacing and driving forward mitigation strategies. Join us as we shape the future of e-commerce here at TikTok Shop! As a project intern, you will have the opportunity to engage in impactful short-term projects that provide you with a glimpse of professional real-world experience. You will gain practical skills through on-the-job learning in a fast-paced work environment and develop a deeper understanding of your career interests. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis - we encourage you to apply early. Successful candidates must be able to commit to at least 3 months long internship period. Responsibilities: - Identify and report regularly on emerging trends in Social Listening and report regularly within External Affairs team and TikTok Shop teams to ensure we are escalating and mitigating properly. - For weekend coverage, surface emerging risk signals and trends directly to the Emergency Risk oncall POC when they meet the prioritization qualifications. - Review Social Listening mentions related to known events and topics while also working to identify new trends and risks. - Strong case management practices-build case documents with key information to identify risk signal, impacts, and related resources (news articles, social media posts, etc). - Assess whether emerging signals are net-new or are connected to previous cases, conduct RCA, identify gaps in policy or current enforcement stance, leakage, etc. - Provide thorough handover to upcoming POC to ensure continuity of cases. - Demonstrate ability to activate the External Affairs team and/or key XFNs when a high risk signal or event occurs that requires immediate action or wider Governance and Experience support.

Minimum Qualifications: - Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Information Security, Crisis Management, Public Affairs, Public Policy, or related fields - Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. - Strong organization, multitasking, and prioritization skills. - Proficient in Excel and data analysis
Job Information
[For Pay Transparency]Compensation Description (Hourly) - Campus Intern
The hourly rate range for this position in the selected city is $23.75- $23.75.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Interns have day one access to health insurance, life insurance, wellbeing benefits and more. Interns also receive 10 paid holidays per year and paid sick time (56 hours if hired in first half of year, 40 if hired in second half of year). Interns who are not working 100% remote may also be eligible for housing allowance.
