Job description

Responsibilities
Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a 2nd Shift Maintenance Electrician in our Torrance, CA location. HFS is a business unit of Howmet Aerospace, headquartered in Torrance, California. We hold the number one global position in aerospace fastening systems, and we're the North American leader in commercial transportation fasteners. Our high-tech, multi-material fastening systems are found nose to tail on aircraft and aerospace engines. Our products are also critical components of industrial gas turbines, automobiles, commercial transportation vehicles, and construction and industrial equipment.
General Summary:
The maintenance electrician is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and installation of electrical systems and equipment, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. Will also assist in the maintenance of facilities' tools and equipment, as well as the building and its grounds.
Specific Responsibilities:
  • Strictly adhere to safety regulations and plant policies.
  • Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems, wiring, fixtures and appliances to identify faults or hazards.
  • Perform necessary repairs on electrical systems and equipment, including troubleshooting and fixing wiring issues.
  • Install new electrical systems, appliances, and fixtures as required, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Must maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections performed on electrical systems, by paper or electronic devices.
  • Utilize strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve electrical issues quickly and efficiently
  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's tools and equipment.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Perform mechanic skills including but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, repair or replace parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
  • At the end of the shift, secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications.
  • 7+ years of total experience as an industrial electrician in manufacturing environment
  • Active electricians license
  • Basic knowledge of advanced industrial wiring, advanced industrial electronics, and PLC Programming
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
  • This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items

Benefits/Salary:
The position includes competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance (medical, dental, vision), excellent 401k matching program, paid holidays and vacation. The hourly range for this position is $27-$42.
