Position Reports To: Supervisor of Children’s Advocacy Center

Supervision Exercised: None

Provide mental health evaluation, testing and treatment services to clients and their non-offending family members. Assess and provide clinical and consultation services to child sexual abuse victims and their non-offending family members.

• Perform clinical assessments and evaluations of clients and families referred for services.
• Prepare case histories as needed for use in diagnosis and treatment.
• Develop intervention and treatment plans, which include an evaluation of family support, client strengths and level of risk.
• Provide individual and non-offending family therapy as needed and/or requested by clients.
• Administer appropriate testing for specific disorders when appropriately licensed.
• Maintain required case documentation and record delivered services in an accurate and timely manner as required by regulating entities, accreditation organizations and management.
• Participate in ongoing staff training and development programs.
• Consult with medical professionals where appropriate for input into treatment issues.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement efforts as defined by the accrediting or regulating entities.
• Maintain positive working relationships with all agency programs and staff and with outside entities and staff.
• Provide crisis counseling, follow-up contact, short-term child sexual abuse assessment and crisis intervention services; assist crime victims in applying for Crime Victims Compensation where indicated.
• Develop intervention and treatment plans, which include an evaluation of the child’s support system strengths and level of risk.
• Participate as a multi-disciplinary team member with local law enforcement officers, prosecutors, protection workers and other helping professionals to assess, plan and review the needs of clients and families.
• Provide comprehensive case management services including consultation and coordination between all non-offending parties involved.
• Available to accompany victims and families to court. Testify, as necessary.
• Serve as treatment team member in regular staffing of cases and reviews of referrals.
• Promote community efforts to aid crime victims.
• Participate in staff training and development programs especially in the dynamics of sexual abuse, victimology, medical and legal investigation protocols as well as agency procedural training.
• Perform other duties as directed by Leadership.

Master’s Degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field required.

Licensed Master’s Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor or Psychologist, Limited Licensed Master’s Social Worker, Limited Licensed Professional Counselor or Master’s Limited Psychologist, considered.

• One year of training or experience working in treatment of children and families, required.
• Experience with grant writing, preferred.
• Experience with community outreach, preferred.
• Direct contact with under-age clients with mental health disorders, abused children and non-offending family members.
• Flu and Covid-19 Vaccines, highly preferred.

• Strong clinical skills and ability to engage in positive therapeutic relationships required. Ability to engage clients.
• Ability to establish effective relationships with community/agency representatives.
• Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills, ability to operate computer equipment.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, regulations, program and services as they relate to the provision of services.
• Working knowledge of the system of services needed to address the needs of children and families and the ability to coordinate care between these programs.
