Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union is currently searching for an experienced and talented IT Enterprise Backup Administratorto join our amazing IT Platform Services team!

The IT Enterprise Backup Administratorwill have the ability to work a hybrid schedule (remote/onsite) aftera period of training (time frame may vary). Training will take place at the RBFCU Administrative Service Center: 1 Ikea-RBFCU Pkwy, Live Oak, Texas 78233.

All applicants must reside within the state of Texas and have the capability of performing all of the work from their home in Texas.

To successfully work from home, employees must have access to a minimum internet connection as noted by RBFCU.

  • Must have a reliable home internet provider and the ability to hard wire a connection directly to modem (Ethernet cable provided).

  • Must be able to provide a workspaces at home that is safe, suitable for work, and within a distraction free environment

Under minimal supervision, the IT Enterprise Backup Administrator is responsible for the operation, administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all components of the enterprise backup system to ensure functionality and efficiency that meets internal customer needs. Participates in the planning and implementation of backup procedures and policies to ensure backup storage provisioning, backup scheduling, and archiving is consistent with company goals. Responds to after-hour calls; and performs related duties as required.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, configure, install, manage and support enterprise backup and recovery systems, including Commvault Enterprise and storage platform attached

  • Maintain and support backup storage space and requirements across the enterprise

  • Support OS, file level, and VSA virtual as well as SQL Server and Oracle database backup and restorations

  • Prepare backup reports for management review and backup documentation

  • Maintain service level agreements and participate in IT backup audits

  • Work with business, technical staff, and management to design backup and recovery strategies to meet RTO/RPO requirements

  • Ensure restoration procedures are configured and tested.

  • Perform security updates and patches on backup system servers on a monthly basis

  • Remediation of missing security updates as reported by Information Security and vulnerability management system

  • Other duties as assigned (note: essential functions and responsibilities may change or new ones assigned at any time with or without notice)

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of an Associates Degree is required or an equivalent of two years of work-related experience in lieu of degree

  • Minimum 3 years of backup application support experience and engineer type

  • Experience with Commvault Simpana

  • Experience with Microsoft Server 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019

  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux

  • Experience with VMware virtualization technologies and principles

  • Experience with Citrix VDI technologies and principles

  • Experience with storage area network technologies

  • Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and group policy concepts

  • Working knowledge of IT Security vulnerability management best practices

  • Understanding of networking concepts

  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and to establish/maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, employees and the general public
