Laboratory Manager – EMC & Radio Testing


About the role

We are seeking a Laboratory Manager to lead and manage operations within a specialist testing environment. You will be responsible for enabling efficient workflows across the laboratory team, ensuring projects are delivered on time, to a high standard, and in line with client expectations.

This role requires a strong technical understanding of electrical testing and certification, combined with proven experience managing laboratory operations, teams, and commercial performance.


Key requirements

  • Strong IT skills and confidence working with data, reporting, and technical documentation
  • Excellent numerical ability, including analysing, calculating, and presenting test results
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly
  • Proven ability to build relationships with clients, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
  • Experience managing laboratory teams, including workload planning, resource allocation, and team development
  • Experience providing coaching, training, and technical guidance to engineers and technicians
  • Demonstrable experience within electrical testing, compliance, certification, or a related technical environment
  • Understanding of laboratory safety processes, quality systems, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience working within an accredited laboratory environment (e.g. ISO 17025 or equivalent)
  • Electrical engineering background (degree level or equivalent experience preferred)
