The Role

We are seeking an Embryologist to join our team at our Hoffman Estates, IL location. In this role, you'll be responsible for a variety of specialized tasks related to embryology and IVF laboratory procedures, working closely with patient samples and employing technical skill and precision to support the success of our fertility treatments.

What You’ll Do

You'll be hands-on in the lab from day one, and your day to day will include:

  • Identifying and retrieving oocytes from follicular fluid using a dissecting microscope, and loading embryos into a catheter to assist physicians during embryo transfer
  • Conducting daily embryo assessments using an inverted microscope, and performing zona ablation on oocytes and embryos using medical-grade laser technology
  • Executing freezing and thawing protocols for surplus oocytes and embryos, and preparing culture dishes with sterile technique for next-day procedures
  • Stocking supplies, performing quality control testing, maintaining lab equipment, and monitoring liquid nitrogen storage

You'll work primarily under microscopes in our in vitro fertilization laboratory, following strict lab protocols and handling liquid nitrogen and other specialized equipment. Once trained and deemed competent, you'll work independently on specimen processing, testing, and result reporting.

What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences with Technical Supervisor (ABB) certification, Master's degree in Biological Sciences, or a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent hand-eye coordination, and fine motor skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a team-based environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Schedule

This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position, Monday through Friday during business hours, with rotating coverage for every other weekend and some holidays. This role is based at our Hoffman Estates, IL location.
