Job Description
Join Teledyne Paradise Datacom and help build the intelligent control systems behind high-power RF and microwave technologies. In this role, you will combine embedded firmware development with hands-on RF hardware integration, contributing to the design, validation, and support of Solid State Power Amplifiers (SSPAs) and related RF products. You will work across the full product lifecycle, collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to bring innovative solutions from concept through deployment.
What you'll do
  • Develop and maintain embedded firmware for RF and microwave products.
  • Design and support embedded control functions including monitoring, diagnostics, and fault management.
  • Integrate firmware with RF hardware, sensors, power systems, and control circuits.
  • Implement communication interfaces such as Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI), Inter-Integrated Circuit (I²C), Universal Asynchronous Receiver-Transmitter (UART), and Ethernet.
  • Create automated test solutions using Python, C/C++, LabVIEW, or similar tools.
  • Perform board bring-up, debugging, troubleshooting, and system integration activities.
  • Optimize firmware performance in real-time embedded environments.
  • Support product validation, environmental testing, and manufacturing activities.
  • Document software architecture, testing, and system configurations.
  • Provide technical support for customer and field issues when required.

What you need
  • Embedded firmware development in C/C++, Python, or similar languages - required
  • Experience with microcontrollers and real-time embedded systems - required
  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills - required
  • Experience integrating firmware with electronic hardware - required
  • Familiarity with field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) and real-time operating systems (RTOS) - preferred
  • Knowledge of RF/microwave technologies and power amplifiers - preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline - required
  • Ability to travel approximately 5% and obtain/maintain a government security clearance - required
