Job Description
We are seeking an Embedded Systems Expert with deep expertise in DO-178C and avionics software development to lead the architecture and execution of safety-critical airborne systems.
The ideal candidate will be capable of architecting a system from concept through certification, with extensive experience in Real-Time Embedded Systems (RTES) and Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) environments. This individual will provide technical leadership across the entire product lifecycle, including requirements development, architecture, implementation, integration, verification, validation, and certification.
Location: The role can be onsite (CT), hybrid, or fully remote.
Responsibilities
  • Architect end-to-end avionics software systems from concept through certification.
  • Collaborate across systems, hardware, software, verification, and certification teams.
  • Lead development of safety-critical embedded software in compliance with DO-178C.
  • Support certification audits and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Support definition and allocation of system-level and software requirements.
  • Design and implement solutions for RTES and RTOS-based platforms.
  • Conduct architecture reviews, technical assessments, and trade studies.
  • Drive requirements traceability, verification planning, and validation activities.
  • Mentor engineering teams and provide technical leadership.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Strong experience in embedded software development.
  • Extensive hands-on 12+ years of experience with DO-178C certification programs.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Real-Time Embedded Systems (RTES)
    • Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
    • Safety-critical software development
    • Systems engineering processes
  • Excellent communication and technical leadership skills.
  • U.S. citizenship is required. Dual citizenship should be disclosed.
  • Able to travel approximately two to six weeks in a year.
