Your role as a Firmware Engineer at FTEX is key to establishing ourselves as leaders in Quebec’s EV space. Come and join our Montreal team and play a critical role in delivering a world-class product to our clients throughout North America and the world! 

Your responsibilities

  • Responsible for the design, development, testing and maintenance of various firmware across products in the company. 
  • Design and develop robust and time-critical firmware architecture for power electronic systems and IoT connectivity
  • Test systems regularly to identify potential bottlenecks and issues. Work with the hardware team to develop procedures to find hardware and software bugs.
  • Provide systems level support and embedded Subject Matter Expertise across all areas of the product (electrical, hardware, software,, etc)
  • Acting as a leader in a team of embedded systems engineers to deliver features on time and with quality

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Experience in designing, building and testing embedded systems
  • Autonomy and leadership for managing multiple projects and priorities in line with targeted goals
  • Teamwork oriented, and sense of leadership.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Real time operating system (RTOS) experience a plus
  • Experience in motor control and/or power electronics a plus
  • Experience in project management or technical leadership a plus

Vos responsabilités
    Responsable de la conception, du développement, de l'essai et de la maintenance de divers systèmes embarqués dans les produits de l'entreprise.

    Tester régulièrement les systèmes pour identifier les goulots d'étranglement et les problèmes potentiels. Travailler avec l'équipe matérielle pour développer des procédures pour trouver les bogues matériels et logiciels.
    Fournir un soutien au niveau des systèmes et une expertise en matière de sujets embarqués dans tous les domaines du produit (électrique, matériel, logiciel, mécanique, etc.).
    Responsable de la conformité de la certification du firmware
Votre formation
    Baccalauréat en ingénierie
    Expérience approfondie des systèmes d'exploitation en temps réel (RTOS) et du développement embarqué.
    Plus de 5 ans d'expérience pratique dans le développement de systèmes embarqués.
    Expérience en gestion de projet ou en direction technique
    Autonomie et leadership pour la gestion de plusieurs projets et priorités en accord avec les objectifs ciblés, fortes compétences en gestion de projets et en organisation, ainsi que des compétences développées en résolution de problèmes.
    Sens du travail en équipe, et sens du leadership.
    Bonnes aptitudes à la communication et aux relations interpersonnelles.
