Job description

Title: Oversight Analyst – Embedded Banking Oversight

Location: Boston, MA or New York City

Rate: $50/Hr


Note: This position is a contract on W2, and is NOT open to C2C.


Summary

The Oversight Analyst is responsible for the ongoing monitoring, risk oversight, and governance of Commercial Third-Party Deposit Partners. This role supports the Embedded Banking organization by executing monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc oversight activities designed to identify, assess, escalate, and document risks associated with third-party partners and their customers.

The Analyst serves as a key liaison between partners, relationship management, risk management, AML, and other internal stakeholders to help ensure adherence to bank policies, regulatory requirements, and established risk appetite.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Ongoing Partner Oversight
  • Review monthly partner risk reports and conduct oversight activities related to:
  • AML and compliance issues
  • OFAC screening results
  • Fraud events and trends
  • Material business changes
  • Third- and fourth-party payment activities
  • Unusual activity referrals
  • Participate in partner meetings and maintain detailed meeting notes, documentation, and supporting evidence.
  • Identify and escalate risks, control deficiencies, and material issues to appropriate business, risk, AML, and executive stakeholders.
  • Analyze Returned Deposit Item (RDI) reports to assess alignment with established risk thresholds and escalate excessive rates or emerging concerns.
  • Review sanctions and adverse media screening results and support related escalation and remediation efforts.


KYC & Customer Due Diligence Oversight

  • Perform risk-based testing of partner customer onboarding files and KYC documentation.
  • Review onboarding packages for completeness and compliance with established standards.
  • Document findings, communicate remediation requirements, and track outstanding issues through resolution.
  • Escalate unresolved or material compliance concerns to appropriate stakeholders.


Governance, Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate records and supporting evidence for all oversight activities.
  • Prepare management reports, risk summaries, and tracking documentation.
  • Support internal audits, regulatory examinations, internal reviews, and annual partner assessments.
  • Help ensure adherence to internal policies, AML and sanctions programs, NACHA requirements, and applicable payment operating rules.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in payment operations, risk management, compliance, AML, fraud, or third-party risk management.
  • Experience analyzing operational, compliance, financial, and fraud-related risks.
  • Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet recurring regulatory and operational deadlines.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills with the ability to work across multiple business functions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, Compliance, Accounting, Criminal Justice, or equivalent relevant experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting fintech partnerships, embedded banking, or embedded payment programs.
  • Knowledge of ACH, Fedwire, RTP, and other payment methods.
  • Understanding of AML/BSA, OFAC, NACHA Operating Rules, third-party risk management, and vendor oversight frameworks.
  • Experience supporting regulatory examinations, audits, issue management, or remediation programs.
