Job description

Description
Charm Security is looking for a Forward Deployed AI Engineer to help the world's leading financial institutions deploy the next generation of AI agents for fraud, scams, and cybercrime prevention and resolution.
As a Forward Deployed AI Engineer, you will work directly alongside customers to understand how fraud teams operate, configure and tailor AI agents to their environment, solve complex operational challenges, and continuously improve deployments based on real-world usage.
You'll operate at the intersection of engineering, AI, customer success, and fraud operations. Every customer is different, and you'll be responsible for turning Charm's Agentic AI Workforce into a solution that feels purpose-built for each institution.
This role is ideal for someone who loves solving problems, enjoys working directly with customers, and wants to help shape how AI transforms fraud and scam prevention in financial institutions. You'll spend time on customer sites, becoming a trusted technological partner throughout their fraud AI transformation journey.
Key Responsibilities
  • Work directly with fraud investigators, analysts, contact center teams, and executives to understand workflows and operational challenges
  • Configure, customize, and optimize Charm's AI agents to match each customer's fraud operations, policies, and processes
  • Build integrations with customer systems, data sources, and enterprise applications
  • Rapidly prototype creative solutions for customer-specific requirements
  • Analyze production usage, identify opportunities for improvement, and continuously evolve customer deployments
  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering to translate customer needs into new capabilities
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the customer's AI fraud transformation journey
  • Travel regularly to customer sites across the United States for workshops, deployments, training, and executive sessions

Who You Are
  • You enjoy solving real-world problems where there isn't an obvious answer
  • You love working directly with customers and becoming deeply embedded in their business
  • You're highly technical but equally comfortable collaborating with frontline teams
  • You thrive in ambiguous environments where creativity matters as much as technical execution
  • You naturally think outside the box and enjoy building elegant solutions for unique customer challenges
  • You take ownership and are motivated by delivering measurable customer outcomes
  • Strong communicator who can work across technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Thrive in fast-paced startup environments where speed and learning matter

Requirements
  • +4 years of experience in forward-deployed engineering, solution engineering, implementation engineering, or software engineering
  • Strong software engineering skills with experience building integrations, APIs, automation, or backend systems
  • Experience working with AI systems, LLMs, AI agents, or agentic workflows
  • Experience working directly with enterprise customers on technical deployments or complex implementations
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and business audiences
  • Ability to travel throughout the United States and Canada (approximately 25-50%)

Advantages
  • Experience in fraud, financial crime, cybersecurity, fintech, banking, or financial services
  • Familiarity with the fraud and communication platforms' technology stack
  • Startup experience or experience in fast-moving, customer-facing technical roles
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
