Job description

Performance Software is seeking detail-oriented Software Test Engineers to design, execute, and maintain test plans that ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our software products. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with developers and product teams to identify defects, automate testing processes, and help deliver high-quality solutions to our customers. This position operates on a two-week-onsite, two-week-remote rotation, with per diem and all travel expenses provided for the duration of the program. Future programs provide opportunity to work fully remote.
Pay: $75,000 - $145,000
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
  • 3-7 years of experience in software or systems testing within aerospace, defense, robotics, autonomy, or embedded systems
  • Knowledge of software testing methodologies, including Verification & Validation (V&V), regression, functional, and integration testing
  • Experience developing test cases and procedures
  • Ability to interpret technical requirements, interface specifications, system documentation, and architectures
  • Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and defect reporting skills
  • Experience documenting test results and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with unmanned systems, autonomous platforms, aerospace, or defense programs
  • Familiarity with HITL/HIL and SITL test environments
  • Experience supporting flight testing, field integration, and first-of-type system deployments
  • Knowledge of aerospace and defense standards such as DO-178C, DO-254, MIL-HDBK-516C, and related MIL-STD frameworks
  • Experience testing embedded and distributed systems
