Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Software Engineer who can take ownership of delivering audio technology solutions from concept to market. This role combines deep technical expertise with strong integration and delivery skills. The ideal candidate will lead end-to-end execution of platform software projects, ensuring technical alignment, integration readiness, and successful deployment across internal and external teams.

Hybrid Working Environment: 3-days/week on-site presence is required.

Responsibilities
  • End-to-End Project Ownership: Drive technical execution for assigned projects, from requirements through integration and validation, ensuring timely delivery of audio technology solutions.
  • Software Development: Design, implement, and optimize platform software components for embedded and RTOS-based environments using C/C++.
  • Integration Leadership: Coordinate technical integration across DSP pipelines, middleware, and partner deliverables; proactively identify and resolve system-level issues.
  • Technical Planning: Define integration strategies, maintain dependency matrices, and ensure scalability for future product lines.
  • Cross-Functional Engagement: Act as the primary technical point of contact for systems, QA, and security teams; represent software interests in program-level discussions.
  • Performance & Quality: Validate latency-sensitive audio systems, optimize for real-time performance, and ensure compliance with product requirements.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed technical notes, integration plans, and progress reports to support transparency and alignment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree with 3+ years of experience in computer engineering or related field
  • Strong proficiency in C/C++ and embedded or RTOS-based software development.
  • Experience with audio technologies, including DSP integration, low-latency audio pipelines, or room correction algorithms.
  • Working knowledge of real-time or near–real-time systems, including scheduling, latency analysis, synchronization, and performance constraints in embedded or high-performance environments.
  • Proven ability to lead technical projects and deliver complex software solutions without direct people management.
  • Solid understanding of system integration, debugging, and performance optimization.
  • Familiarity with middleware frameworks, IPC mechanisms, and hardware–software interaction.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills; comfortable driving technical discussions and influencing outcomes.
  • Experience in consumer electronics or OEM/ODM collaboration is a plus.
  • Nice to Have Experience with DSP and firmware development on platforms such as BES, Qualcomm, or AMLogic, and/or Android audio frameworks.
Compensation & Benefits

Our compensation is thoughtfully tailored to your skills, experience, education, and location, and goes beyond base salary. The hiring range for this position in the primary work location of Framingham, Massachusetts is: $97,200-$133,650. The hiring range for other Bose work locations may vary.
