Exceptional Hospitality Starts with You
This role is based at our corporate office in McLean, VA
This is your chance to be part of an in-house Architecture, Design & Construction team that delivers exceptional properties that delight our guests, reward our partners, and reflect the unique cultures of their geographical locations! As a Design Manager on the US&C Architecture, Design & Construction team, reporting to the Senior Director Design for Embassy Suites & HGV, you will guide the interior design efforts on new development and renovations across Hilton's All Suites portfolio, primarily for Embassy Suites & HGV.
What you'll do during a typical day:
  • Design Guidance & Project Evaluation: Review design for aesthetic alignment with the Brand Narrative, functionality, and compliance with Brand Standards, while guiding hotel owners and their design consultants. Reviews will encompass desktop evaluations and occasional onsite model room inspections.
  • Document Review: Review drawing sets, specification submittals, finishes and shop drawings for compliance with AD&C and Brand Standards. Provide response via live virtual calls and via Microsoft Bluebeam markups.
  • Project and Document Tracking: Maintain accurate internal reporting of active projects and monitor the progress. Collaborate with the Project Manager.
  • Direct Support: Contribute to the ongoing maintenance and updates to Brand Narratives, Design & Construction Standards, and design resources and communication tools. Assist with AD&C and Brand initiatives. Provide training to internal and external partners to ensure understanding of each Brand's design.
  • Presentation Assistance: Assist with presentation preparations for conferences, events, and AD&C team meetings.

How you'll collaborate with others:
  • Partner with AD&C Project Management Team Member(s) to study design opportunities for new build, conversion and renovation projects.
  • Negotiate with Franchisees and their Interior Designers to achieve mutually agreeable solutions while maintaining Brand intent and communicating conclusions for full agreement and support. Conduct virtual pre-design, ID kick-off meetings and design milestone reviews in accordance with the design review/acceptance process.
  • Participate in vendor, supplier, and manufacturer presentations to support maintaining and building industry relationships. Maintain current understanding of relevant products, design techniques, and production methods.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of current Brand Standards and design narratives/schemes across applicable brands; and help provide feedback on Standards and design tools to refine and improve products.
  • Position the AD&C group as a trusted partner by building relationships with internal and external partners throughout the project cycle. Design tools to refine and improve products.

Projects you'll take ownership of:
  • Embassy Suites (a full-service brand) branded properties, ensuring agreement to brand narrative/pillars/moments and brand standards, along with strategic corporate initiatives and objectives, offering specific value-additive solutions.
What It Takes to Make the Stay
You have these minimum qualifications:
  • Five (5) years of interior design, or architecture experience in the hospitality industry
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or Bluebeam.
  • Travel as needed, up to 25%

It would be useful if you have:
  • One (1) year of Interior design experience specifically with Full-Service properties
  • Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Interior Design, Architecture, or related discipline.
  • Experience with project management, design products, finishes and procurement.
  • Knowledge of accessibility, building codes, and technical requirements in hospitality architecture and design industry.
  • NCIDQ Certified

The pay range for this role is $77,500 - $100,000 and is determined based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
