Job description

Hotel Ella is seeking a skilled and dependable Line Cook to join our culinary team. This position plays a key role in delivering consistent, high-quality food for our restaurant, bar, pool, events, and hotel guests. The ideal candidate takes pride in clean execution, strong prep habits, station organization, and working with urgency during service.
The Line Cook is responsible for preparing menu items according to recipe standards, maintaining proper food handling and sanitation practices, and supporting a smooth kitchen operation from prep through close. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to work well under pressure, and a team-first attitude.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and execute menu items according to Hotel Ella recipes, portion standards, and plating expectations.
Set up, stock, and maintain assigned station before, during, and after service.
Complete daily prep tasks accurately and efficiently.
Cook and plate food consistently while maintaining quality, timing, and presentation standards.
Follow proper food safety, sanitation, labeling, cooling, and storage procedures.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift.
Communicate clearly with the culinary team, chef, and service team to support smooth operations.
Assist with receiving, rotation, and proper storage of product as needed.
Support banquet, event, pool, restaurant, and bar food service when required.
Help reduce waste by using proper portions, following prep pars, and rotating product correctly.
Perform opening, closing, and side work duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Prior line cook or kitchen experience preferred.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Strong knife skills, prep skills, and basic cooking knowledge.
Dependable, punctual, and professional.
Ability to follow recipes, direction, and food safety standards.
Comfortable standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
