Job Overview:
Grace Early Learning Center is seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Preschool Early Childhood Teacher to join our team. This role involves planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment, and supporting the social, emotional, and academic growth of preschool-aged children. The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood education, possess strong communication skills, and have a commitment to building strong relationships with children and families.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, implement, and assess age-appropriate lesson plans that encourage cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
  • Provide a safe, nurturing, and structured environment where children feel supported and confident to explore.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, ensuring that each child’s individual needs are met.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with parents and families, providing regular updates on children’s progress.
  • Observe and document children’s growth, development, and behavior in line with educational goals.
  • Collaborate with fellow staff members to create a cohesive and supportive classroom community.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom space.
  • Promote positive behavior management techniques and guide children in developing social skills.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and center events as needed.
Qualifications:

  • 90 Clock Hours Early Childcare Education
  • At least 9 clock hours of approved training in communicating with staff, parents and the public
  • 3 clock hours in ADA Compliance
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with preschool-aged children in a childcare or educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Ability to create engaging, hands-on, and developmentally appropriate lesson plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well with a team of educators, parents, and children.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain during professional development).
  • Background check and Medical TB test required.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or higher degree in Early Childhood Education.
  • Experience with assessment tools and curriculum development for preschool-aged children.
  • Knowledge of Maryland State Licensing Regulations for Early Childhood Education.
  • Bilingual abilities (English/Spanish or other languages) are a plus.
