Job description

Sequel is a digital family office of the world's best athletes, artists and entrepreneurs backing companies that advance humanity.
Our primary stakeholders are founders. We're on a mission to help them tell their stories. It's one of the ways we win access and help them accelerate.
We are building a world-class storytelling team and are looking for a Storyteller who will work within our team to concept, film and edit visually stunning, end-to-end content that tells compelling, impactful stories.
Most content roles are built around a single skill: editing, filming, or writing. At sequel, a Storyteller aims to own the full arc. You research the subject, develop the concept, write the script, set up and run the shoot, edit the piece, and bring it to life with music, motion and animation. You are not handed a brief and asked to execute it. You help decide what gets made, why it matters, and how it should feel.
What you'll do
  • Create engaging content: Produce high-quality, end-to-end videos that inspire and educate, aimed at our members and portfolio companies.
  • Collaborate with the world's best startups: Work closely with startups and document the journeys of founders, capturing their stories and missions.
  • Set up shoots: Ensure shoots are perfectly executed by setting up professional lighting, arranging furniture, and managing all elements needed to create visually stunning and polished shots.
  • Film in studio and offsite: Capture footage during studio shoots and offsite locations, working directly with athletes and founders.
  • Edit compelling content: Craft engaging videos across a variety of formats, including trailers, drop videos, educational investing content, founder journeys, behind-the-scenes b-roll footage, and mission-driven stories. Ensure content is optimized for social platforms and seamlessly integrates into our app.
  • Use AI to work smarter: Integrate AI tools into your daily workflow - not as a novelty, but as a genuine part of how you raise quality and move faster.
  • Pitch ideas: Bring new concepts to our bi-weekly Story Lab sessions - a space where each team member shares an idea they actually want to make, grounded in a reference and mapped to one of our three content territories.

Requirements
  • A natural storyteller that has the ability to craft compelling narratives that emotionally connect with the audience.
  • End-to-end video creation experience
  • A portfolio showcasing content that tells captivating, visually stunning stories.
  • Expertise in filming, including lighting setups, camera movements, and cinematic techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with professional gear such as Nikon cameras, lenses, gimbals, and lights.
  • Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or DaVinci Resolve).
  • Basic animation skills
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics
  • A strong communicator
  • Ability to align video production with premium brand guidelines
  • Knowledge of sound design and its importance in storytelling
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to take feedback constructively and work well in a team
  • Must have a current right to work in the US and not require sponsorship

Salary: $100,000 - 150,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Nice to haves:
  • Knowledge of AI tools like Higgsfield.
  • A strong interest in startups, investing, or professional sports.

Benefits
Why join us?
  • Be at the center of innovation: Collaborate with the world's best startups and capture the journeys of industry-defining companies and visionary founders.
  • Work with A+ players: Work alongside top athletes and artists, pioneering entrepreneurs, and a world-class creative team, all striving to push boundaries and achieve excellence.
  • Create meaningful impact: Work on content that highlights positive-impact companies tackling some of the world's biggest challenges and shaping a better future.
  • Develop & grow: At sequel we encourage learning in all forms and enable you to leverage the latest tools, professional gear, and exciting projects to continuously develop your skills and expand your creative expertise.

Our values
  • We are here to win - not just to take part. Just like our clients who operate at the elite level of sport, business, and entertainment, we understand that in order to win; we need to put in the work. This means going the extra mile, being willing to do what others will not and holding ourselves to a higher standard. Some companies play to not lose, we play to win. We are proactive, decisive and have the courage to take risks.
  • We are adaptable - we understand in a world that is changing faster than ever before - the only constant is change. The average lifespan of a Fortune 100 company in 1958 was 61 years, now it is 18 years. We adapt to a changing world, constantly iterating, moving forward and staying relevant.
  • Impossible is an opinion - we are on a mission to build something which has never been done before from the ground up. It will be a hard journey full of challenges which are currently unsolved. Our culture is defined by the fact that when we are confronted with challenges, we work from the assumption that it is possible to overcome them.
  • We are transparent - we challenge each other. Regardless of title, seniority or reporting lines. We give feedback and we are hungry to receive it. We value honest feedback delivered with kindness, and we value people who ask questions.

Benefits
  • Options package
  • Private premium health insurance
  • Generous parental leave policy and fertility support benefit
  • Choose your own equipment you want to work with
  • 25 days off + bank holidays
  • $700 per year learning and development budget
  • Monthly gym Membership Contributions
