Elevator Mechanic Apprentice Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of custom elevator systems.
  • Train hands-on in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems.
  • Read blueprints and wiring diagrams (or learn to — quickly).
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical/electrical issues under guidance.
  • Stay productive while waiting on callbacks, parts, or instructions.
  • Think critically, act safely, and take ownership of problems until resolved.

Elevator Mechanic Apprentice Minimum Requirements (Must-Haves):
  • 2+ years of real-world trade experience — in mechanical, electrical, construction, or industrial environments.
  • Not afraid of heights — you'll be climbing 40-foot ladders, working on scaffolding, rooftops, and elevator shafts.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in tight mechanical spaces.
  • Understanding of electrical systems, troubleshooting, and safety.
  • Ability to retain complex information and apply it under pressure.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a refusal to give up.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must have a clean driving record (for company vehicle eligibility).
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
  • Ability to perform significant automotive work.

Elevator Mechanic Apprentice Bonus If You Have:
