DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Title One Instructional Assistants will provide supplemental assistance to the regular classroom teacher with the following tasks/responsibilities:
  • Following teacher-developed plans and maintaining a classroom climate that is conducive to learning.
  • Knowing specific needs of students, and encouraging student independence in their learning.
  • Following the established schedule, and at the same time, being flexible with necessary changes.
  • Maintaining student data.

In addition to the supplemental services listed above, the Title One Instructional Assistants will:
  • Attend professional development to learn methods for working with struggling students;
  • Learn and oversee the use of software and print materials for students;
  • Communicate in a positive manner with students, parents and staff.
  • Provide a positive role model for students.
  • Maintain confidentiality with student learning, behavior and discipline information.
  • Work with others to support all student learners.
  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Principals, classroom teacher, District Title One Director, or Assistant Superintendent.
  • Help the Title 1 teacher/facilitator keep the Title 1 library and school materials in an organized and orderly manner.
