Job description

Overview

Element has an opening for a Chemist III position at our Extractables and Leachables (E&L) testing Center of Excellence in Bend, OR. The Chemist III position will work in a cGMP-regulated environment under the direction of the GC Supervisor or other senior staff member in laboratory and office settings. The position will work with a team completing E&L project work using internal methods, protocols and SOPs according to customer specific requirements. The position requires working in a collaborative manner with other team members to accomplish organizational goals, providing ideas to improve efficiency and actively contributing to positive co-worker/customer relationships through efficient interaction on current projects. The Chemist III will also contribute to team continuous improvement initiatives.In this position, there are many opportunities for developing strong analytical skills in GC-MS and for industry advancement. Element Bend is known for focus, expertise, and scientific contributions in the field of E&L testing for the biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical and medical device industries. We are a fast-paced and quick-thinking scientific organization that excels in customer service. At the same time, we foster a casual, flexible, and fun supportive team environment.

Responsibilities
  • Member of GC-MS team utilizing advanced analytical instrumentation to perform E&L sample and data analysis.
  • Effectively perform project tasks under direction of GC Supervisor and Chromatography Manager.
  • Create, revise or review controlled procedures and participate in the maintenance and continuous improvement of our Quality System.
  • Promote growth and development within the GC Team and greater Element Bend organization.
  • Depending on experience, may assist with protocol and report writing and reviewing
Skills / Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or related field is required
  • Minimum 4 years experience in a laboratory setting, cGMP experience preferred
  • Prior experience in GC-MS required
