Position: Lead Electronics Engineer
Location: Greenwood, MS
Type: Fulltime, Direct Hire, Onsite
About the job:
The Lead Electronics Engineer is responsible for the technical development and support of electronic controls and electronic subsystems. This position is responsible for the direction, planning, coordination and implementation of designs related to electronic controls and electronic subsystems across multiple appliance platforms. Responsible for the development, implementation and completion of test programs and plans. The position is responsible for performing tests for new product designs, new features, quality improvements and cost reductions. In addition, the position will be expected to complete various activities and projects both within the team and across other departments.
Responsibilities:
  • Development of specifications for electronic controls and electronic subsystems with respect to the following: 1. Product level requirements and specifications 2. Agency requirements (both domestic and international) 3. Marketing and Industrial Design requirements
  • Project management for electronic components and subsystems from concept through production
  • Manage outside electronic controls and component suppliers
  • Test plan development for electronic components and sub-systems (both software and hardware)
  • Responsible for verification, validation and approval testing for electronic components and sub-systems
  • Support manufacturing in the specification and development of production line test equipment related to the electronics design
  • Development and/or use of diagnostic tools and fixtures to support design, evaluation and troubleshooting
  • Development and implementation of control algorithms for appliances
  • Use of statistical design and evaluation concepts to ensure robust designs
  • Continuous improvement for existing designs
  • Engineering technical support to industrial design for: 1. User interface design (usability) 2. Concept Feasibility (technical, cost, schedule)
  • Engineering technical support to Procurement for: 1. Supplier evaluation 2. Quoting of electronic components
  • Engineering technical support to Service for: 1. Resolution of field issues 2. Development and implementation of field diagnostics 3. Support development of service documentation
  • Advanced Technology research and evaluation
  • Competitive product analysis & testing

Requirements:
  • BSEE
  • Minimum of 5 years of electronic controls development experience
  • Project management experience
  • Broad experience in appliance design / development; preferred
  • Experience with statistical design concepts; preferred
  • Programming and hardware design experience; preferred
  • The ability to establish priorities and manage multiple project assignments
  • Advanced organizational, problem solving and analysis skills
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with others; excellent interpersonal skills
