Job description

Manufacturing Engineer

Foxconn is seeking a skilled and motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join our Houston operations team. This role is responsible for supporting, configuring, optimizing, and maintaining advanced production equipment used in electronics manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with SMT processes, automation systems, and PCB assembly equipment in a high-volume manufacturing environment.Key Responsibilities
  • Set up, configure, and optimize SMT / Automation  production equipment for efficient and high-quality output
  • Support and manage equipment including SMT placement machines, reflow ovens, PCB routers, press fit equipment, AOI systems, X-ray systems, and automated production equipment
  • Troubleshoot machine issues and minimize downtime through fast root-cause resolution
  • Improve manufacturing processes for yield, throughput, and quality performance
  • Work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Process Engineering teams
  • Develop and maintain machine parameters, setup documentation, and process standards
  • Support new product introduction (NPI), line transfers, and continuous improvement projects
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational procedures
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent manufacturing experience
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing / PCB assembly / SMT environment
  • Strong understanding of SMT process flow and PCB assembly operations
  • Experience with AOI, X-ray, routers, automation, and production machinery
  • Strong troubleshooting and mechanical/electrical diagnostic skills
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma is a plus
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Experience
  • High-volume EMS manufacturing environment
  • Process validation and machine programming
  • Preventive maintenance coordination
  • Data analysis for production improvement
