About the Role
Trofholz Technologies, Inc. is seeking an experienced and motivated Field Engineer - Electronic Security Systems (ESS) ready to take ownership of field operations, lead installation teams, and support the successful delivery of mission-critical security projects.
For more than 22 years, Trofholz has delivered security and technology solutions protecting federal facilities and critical infrastructure across the country. In this role, you will provide day-to-day field leadership while remaining actively involved in the installation, programming, testing, and troubleshooting of Integrated Electronic Security Systems (IESS), including Access Control, Video Surveillance (CCTV), Intrusion Detection, structured cabling, and supporting infrastructure.
The Field Engineer works closely with the Project Manager and project team to coordinate field activities, schedules, materials, safety, quality, and customer requirements. This is a hands-on position for someone who understands both the technical work and what it takes to keep a project moving successfully in the field.
We strongly value military experience and welcome transitioning service members and veterans. Experience in communications, electronics, security, engineering, construction, maintenance, technical operations, or leading teams in mission-driven environments can translate well to this role.

What You Will Do
  • Understand the project scope, drawings, specifications, and requirements and ensure field work is completed accordingly.
  • Lead day-to-day field operations and installation crews at assigned project sites.
  • Perform and oversee the installation and programming of low-voltage and electronic security systems.
  • Support Access Control, Video Surveillance (CCTV), Intrusion Detection, structured cabling, and related security infrastructure.
  • Coordinate daily schedules, field activities, equipment, and material needs with the Project Manager.
  • Ensure the project site has the tools, equipment, and materials necessary to complete scheduled work.
  • Track project progress and communicate status, milestones, schedule impacts, and field issues to Project Management.
  • Receive and track project materials and supplies and ensure company tools, equipment, and materials are properly maintained and safeguarded.
  • Follow required check-in/check-out and inventory procedures for tools and materials.
  • Lead and document job-site safety meetings and ensure all company and project safety requirements are followed.
  • Review field work for quality and compliance with project specifications and approved requirements.
  • Identify field issues and coordinate with the Project Manager to resolve problems and keep work progressing.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers and project stakeholders.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer requests, technical issues, and inquiries.
  • Maintain professional conduct and represent Trofholz appropriately at customer and project locations.
  • Travel and work flexible schedules as required based on project and business needs.
