Job description

Hexagon’s Autonomous Solutions division is looking for a Manufacturing Test Engineer to join our team in Calgary, AB. Reporting to the Manufacturing Test Manager, this role will deliver comprehensive manufacturing test solutions as part of our overall manufacturing process development, collaborating across Product Development, Manufacturing Process Engineering, and Global Manufacturing Sites to ensure high-quality, scalable, and efficient test strategies for advanced autonomous technologies.

AsManufacturing Test Engineeryou will be responsible for these activities:

  • Drive Design for Testing (DFT) reviews by collaborating with R&D and hardware design teams early in the product lifecycle to optimize product testability.
  • Develop test requirements, procedures, and product-specific testing software using C++, C#, and scripting languages.
  • Design and develop product-specific test fixtures, including schematic design, PCB layout coordination, mechanical CAD components, and supplier collaboration.
  • Lead failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) activities and qualify test solutions through measurement system analysis, test coverage analysis, and validation.
  • Support prototype and pilot build testing at global manufacturing locations and work closely with design and manufacturing teams to resolve issues.
  • Analyze production data and deliver reports that drive improvements in product quality and manufacturing yield.
  • Continuously improve test development processes by identifying, communicating, and resolving recurring issues.

Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Software, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of technical experience in hardware development or electronics manufacturing.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematic diagrams.
  • Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout.
  • Practical object-oriented programming experience using C++ and C#.
  • Valid passport and ability to travel internationally.
  • Ability to safely lift and handle equipment weighing up to 15 kg (33 lbs).

Nice To Have:

  • Advanced scripting experience using Lua and Python.
  • Familiarity with Xilinx FPGA development flows.
  • Mechanical design experience and familiarity with CAD software.
  • Understanding of GNSS and RF technologies.
