Job description

Odyssey Technical Solutions is a state of the art Repair Facility located in Round Rock, Texas that specializes in RF Generators, AutoMatch Networks, DC Power Supplies, Remote Plasma Systems, and Microwave Generators/Power Supplies. We celebrated our 24-year anniversary in August 2024 and moved into our new Round Rock Headquarters July 2016.

The Electronics Assembler is responsible for assembling printed circuit boards (PCBs) and other electronic components. The role requires the ability to identify electronic components, as well as read and understand schematics and technical drawings. Manual dexterity and the ability to follow assembly instructions and specifications are essential to ensure the quality and precision of the final products.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Responsibilities include assembly of electrical and electro-mechanical products for internal use in the repair of customer equipment.

Assembler must be proficient in:

  • Soldering and de-soldering electronic components of various types
  • Setting up and using Test Equipment such as a Power Supply, DVM, Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, etc…
  • Comprehending electronic schematics
  • Communicating and listening effectively in a professional and courteous manner. Good attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Manually installing electronic/mechanical components and jumper wires according to knowledge of unit being assembled by following written directions and/or drawings and/or schematics
  • Utilizing small hand tools for positioning parts to assist in assembly operation, stripping wire, forming leads
  • Working in compliance with IPC, OSHA and MSDS safety policies
  • Ability to solve minor problems and recognize bigger problems that require supervisor assistance

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s Degree or 2+ years of experience in electronic assembly in lieu of a degree
  • Candidate must have a technical background and must demonstrate basis electronic ability, knowledge and aptitude (additional training will be provided upon hire)
  • Must have a valid driver’s license by date of hire.

Other Requirements:

Employee must pass the IPC basic soldering class to retain their job.

The candidate must have an Emphasis on attention to detail and work ethic, and have demonstrated basic computer literacy.

Position requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Expected work hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm with Overtime, as business requires.
