Job Description
DUTIES: Develops the overarching technical strategic roadmap. Ensures reuse and technical excellence of engineering solutions and components. Works with the key stakeholders from execution and support teams to ensure common implementation of strategy and to promote technical knowledge in a key area of the Electronic Control Unity (ECU) Hardware (HW) components. Owns deliverables and process based on key area assignment of the Electronic Control Unity (ECU) Hardware (HW) components. Documents and maintains common controller the Bill of Design (BOD) imperatives and controller supplier benchmark library. Works with technical community to develop technology roadmap solutions. Leads innovative culture across controllers including Record of Invention submissions. Establishes overall reuse and strategies across all control modules. Provides proposals for new technology ideas and projects and provides technical support. Leads the development of solutions to meet requirements by working with the feature owners. Initiates epics as appropriate and provides required information to move them to decision. Supports or defines enterprise sourcing strategies and business models. Participates in new process Supplier Quality Support as requested. Fosters communication and learnings between regions. Mentors engineers via robust investigations and provide consultation to other areas of the business. Models and fosters GM's Core Values and Winning Behaviors. Hybrid Role: 3 Days In-Office, 2 Days Remote.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or related field. Employer will accept a 3 or 4 year Bachelor's degree and Five (5) years of experience as a Hardware Engineer, Technical Specialist, Software Engineer, or related role. Must also have three (3) years of experience with: Electronics circuit design and testing; Electronic control unit (ECU) systems development; Hardware design and simulation; Printed Circuit Board (PCB) area estimation, power calculations, Bonus-malus for design options, micro controller, microprocessor, eMMC and DDR; DOORS for requirement gathering and management; Automotive communication protocols, including CAN, LIN, Ethernet, and BroadR Reach; Project documentation and test plan creation; Testing and debugging using Logic Analyzer, DSO, Function Generation, and Power Analyzer; Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and Electro-magnetic Compatibility design, testing, and troubleshooting; Connected automotive technologies, including V2X and CV2X; and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA).
