Job description

Position: Electrician
Location: Memphis TN (President Island)
Wage: Level 1 starts at $34.90 up to level 8 $47.29 (Based on experience)
Shift: 11P-7A or a continental 12-hour 7P - 7A (3,2,2 Schedule)

While reporting to the Plant Engineer- Presidents Island Memphis, the Industrial Electrician/Instrumentation Tech will be responsible for achieving a high level of reliability for plant equipment through performing tasks to reduce machine downtime and enable the facility to perform at optimum levels.

What you'll be doing:

  • Perform preventive maintenance as assigned daily, weekly, monthly, etc.
  • Sign out all parts taken from the storeroom returning any that were not used
  • Fill out work order detail
  • Help troubleshoot and repair operational equipment as needed
  • Participate in the continuous improvement efforts on maintenance effectiveness to eliminate breakdowns and increase equipment reliability.
  • Inspects assigned equipment to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
  • Verifies all safety devices (guards, control circuit devices, stop blocks, etc.) on assigned equipment are always intact and properly secured.
  • Follows all energy isolation requirements.

We'd love to hear from you if:

  • Have 5 years industrial/commercial electrician experience
  • Journeyman License or Industrial Electrician License required within 6 months of employment.
  • Vocational training preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot PLC, HMI and electrical issues
  • Ability to read electrical prints and perform job layouts for electrical devices and circuitry.
  • Pneumatic control or hydraulic system experience preferred
  • Familiar with the use of a welder and an oxy-acetylene torch
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
