Job description

NEXT Electric, LLC seeking full-time Electrical Estimator in New Berlin, Wisconsin.
This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or work authorization support. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without current or future need for employer sponsorship.
Job Summary
Estimating
  • Prepare complete cost estimates for all types of electrical projects.
  • Understand/monitor program of work to ensure estimates are completed prior to deadlines.
  • Schedule/attend field walk-through with customer, subcontractor and construction personnel to understand and determine constructability requirements.
  • Compare various project documents for accuracy and consistency.
  • Participate in estimate review process with internal and external stake holders.
  • Follow-up at end of projects to close any loops in the estimating process.
  • Prepare work to be estimated: gathering proposals, drawings, specifications and related documents.
  • Consult with customers and project managers to gather information to prepare estimates.
  • Obtain bids from vendors and components to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Attend job site walkthroughs as necessary.

Project Management
  • Prepare project construction schedules.
  • Submit Request for Information to clients.
  • Review and monitor job costs versus budgets.
  • Keep emphasis on the client by developing an understanding of the client's culture, key people and processes.
  • Assist construction personnel throughout the project life-cycle in tracking and understanding basis of cost estimate.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of change orders.

Qualifications
  • 3 or more years' related experience or equivalent education, technical training and experience.
  • Accubid/LiveCount and/or Construction Environment experience a plus.
  • Proficient PC and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word) skills.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
  • Customer Oriented - Ability to take care of the customers' needs while following company procedures.
  • Communication - Ability to communicate effectively using a variety of mediums.
  • Detail Oriented - Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.
  • Time Management: Ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) background check, and MVR check when responsibilities require operating motor vehicles, and drug-test as may be required per federal or client contract, or DOT policy.
