The company delivers some of the largest and most complex electrical projects across New York City and the surrounding tristate market. Its estimating team regularly prices major electrical packages valued above $30 million across transportation, infrastructure, commercial and institutional construction.

This position requires a well-rounded electrical estimator with strong knowledge of the New York City construction market. The successful candidate will be capable of developing complete estimates across multiple electrical systems and contract types, including design-build projects.

This is a fully office-based position in Ozone Park, Queens, five days per week.

  • Complete accurate material and labor takeoffs using Accubid and LiveCount.
  • Develop labor, equipment, material and subcontractor pricing.
  • Solicit and evaluate quotations from vendors and subcontractors.
  • Perform bid leveling and identify gaps, exclusions and scope conflicts.
  • Prepare complete electrical estimates from initial document review through final bid submission.
  • Evaluate alternative systems, value-engineering opportunities and potential project risks.
  • Coordinate with operations, project management and senior leadership during the bidding process.
  • Maintain current knowledge of NYC labor conditions, material costs and market pricing.
  • Support estimates across traditional bid-build, negotiated and design-build procurements.

Requirements

  • Experience estimating large commercial, institutional, transportation or infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to estimate complete electrical systems and major electrical packages.
  • Strong working knowledge of Accubid and LiveCount.
  • Familiarity with the NYC union and Local 3 electrical market.
  • Strong understanding of labor productivity, material pricing and vendor coverage.
  • Ability to interpret complex drawings, specifications and contractual documents.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills.
  • Experience working for an established New York electrical contractor is strongly preferred.
  • Willingness to workin-office, in Queens, 5 days a week
