Overview:

As an Expert Tutor, you will remotely assist students with their learning. You'll message students with offers to assist with topic-oriented questions, offer timely answers to common homework issues, and follow up so students can understand the context.ย 

Work at StudyGate is invitation based and increases as you build your platform reputation through our unique algorithm-based ratings system.ย 

Your Responsibilities:

This is a true hunter role! You'll assist students via direct message with offers touting your expertise and ability to reliably give learning solutions. Build ongoing relationships with students as you offer them your expertise through StudyGate's scheduling and payment management systems.ย

Essential Functions:

  • Assist students in getting answers to their homework assignments by demonstrating understanding of the question, asking penetrating lead questions to understand context, and proactively ensuring the rationale behind the answer is provided.
  • Engage with students on an interactive platform to tutor your expert subject areas, send files, draw formulas, work on code, share your screen, and engage in video chat.
  • Build and maintain relationships with students through excellent time management skills and quick responses to student messages.
Qualifications

About You:

You're an enthusiastic subject matter expert who thinks grades are great for eggs and beef but might not be the best solution for truly learning. You believe students should be evaluated by the questions they ask instead of the answers they provide.

Your Qualifications:

You're a self-motivated go-getter looking to maximize the long-term benefits of working with a pioneering learning platform in a highly competitive industry.ย 

You Also Have:

  • A bachelor's degree or are at least a college sophomore
  • A 3.0 GPA or better
  • A GTA position or TA position in a Master's program (preferred)
Additional Information

Remote work only at $18-$35/hour. Think Uber for learning, but with the opportunity to teachย students on a high-traffic homework help platform.
