As an Electrical Commissioning Technician, you will support the commissioning and start-up of electrical systems within semiconductor and mission-critical environments. This role is responsible for executing commissioning activities, validating system performance, and ensuring electrical infrastructure is installed and operating in accordance with project requirements, codes, and industry standards.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform commissioning and start-up of electrical infrastructure and utility systems
  • Support commissioning of transformers, protective relays, grounding systems, and medium-voltage distribution systems
  • Develop, review, and execute commissioning plans, procedures, and test scripts
  • Coordinate commissioning activities with engineers, contractors, utilities, and AHJs
  • Conduct inspections, functional testing, and integrated system testing to validate system readiness
  • Identify deficiencies, track issues, and verify corrective actions through project closeout
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications and applicable codes and standards (NFPA, NEC, IEEE, NETA, OSHA)
  • Support system energization, start-up, and turnover activities while maintaining strict safety standards
  • Maintain detailed commissioning documentation, reports, and records
  • Provide onsite technical support and collaborate with field teams
  • Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role
Skills Required:
  • 3-5 years of commissioning experience, preferably within semiconductor or mission-critical environments
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems including transformers, relays, grounding, and power distribution
  • Experience executing commissioning procedures and interpreting technical documentation
  • Knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards (NFPA, NEC, IEEE, NETA, OSHA)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in field environments
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Effective communication and documentation skills
Education / Licenses / Certifications:
  • Journeyman Electrician License or Electrical Engineering Degree strongly preferred
  • Relevant industry experience will be strongly considered
  • Proof of education, licenses, and certifications will be required where applicable
