Introduction

We are looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join our Engineering team. In this role, you will lead design projects from concept through design, prototyping, manufacturing, and commissioning, while ensuring solutions meet internal quality standards and customer requirements. Your work will contribute to reliable, efficient equipment performance and continuous product improvement. You will report to the Engineering Director.

This role is based in Cudahy, Wisconsin, with onsite working arrangements expected for close collaboration with engineering and operations teams.

You will join a team of engineering professionals focused on product design, equipment optimization, and manufacturing support. Our team plays a key role in developing and improving equipment that supports customer operations, with a shared focus on quality, performance, and continuous improvement.


We collaborate closely with operations, aftermarket, sales, manufacturing, and customers. The team is based onsite, and our ways of working emphasize collaboration, accountability, continuous learning, and getting things done together.


What you'll do

  • Lead design projects from concept through design, prototyping, manufacturing, and commissioning.
  • Develop and optimize equipment designs to improve quality, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Create high-quality manufacturing drawings, work instructions, and technical documentation.
  • Maintain 3D models and 2D drawings for product presentation, manufacturing, and marketing needs.
  • Investigate mechanical failures and maintenance issues, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Evaluate new materials, manufacturing methods, and process improvements.
  • Support continuous improvement, quality initiatives, and lean manufacturing efforts.
  • Partner with sales, aftermarket, and operations teams to deliver product enhancements and special projects.

What you'll bring

  • Degree in Design Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Several years of experience in design engineering within manufacturing, materials handling, recycling, or related industries.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Experience with 3D CAD systems, preferably Pro/Engineer or Creo.
  • Ability to produce clear technical drawings, work instructions, and supporting documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative approach to working across functions.
  • Strong problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with 2D AutoCAD and desktop publishing tools (nice to have).
