Job description

What you will experience in this position:
As a Design Engineer at nVent Management Company, you will join a hardworking team passionate about building world-class metal structures that meet all regulations. This exciting role is based in Eleanor, WV, USA, and offers the chance to work on innovative projects that drive our success!
  • Build customer-specific metal building structures, ensuring compliance with local and governmental codes.
  • Review new orders for completeness and work closely with sales teams and customers to gather essential information.
  • Perform comprehensive analysis on assigned buildings, including roof, wall, accessories, and special structural elements.
  • Run calculations to determine HVAC requirements and perform foundation reactions and thermal calculations for building R/U-Values.
  • Record all analysis results and maintain valuable spreadsheets and database programs.
  • Interpret customer drawings and generate detailed CAD drawings.
  • Develop automated tools, processes, and standards to streamline building processes and reduce manufacturing lead times while ensuring compliance.
  • Collaborate with team leaders on special projects to drive continuous improvement in our engineering processes, tools, and documentation.

You have:
  • A bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or a related engineering discipline.
  • A minimum of 2+ years of experience in structural building, HVAC systems, and CAD operation, preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams, RISA, and AutoCAD, preferred.
  • A strong understanding of the International Building Code (IBC) and International Energy Conservation Code (IECC).
  • Outstanding mathematical abilities and the capability to interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with technical and cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and the capacity to develop creative solutions essential to project success.
