Job Description
The successful Tower Tech III is knowledgeable and proficient in all aspects of running the tower top and bottom, with attention to all jobs being completed quickly, accurately, and efficiently. This position does require travel.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Climb towers to lead in installation, replacement, and troubleshooting of wireless equipment based on direction from Foreman and Construction Manager.
  • Able to run the top independently.
  • Always up the tower unless the Foreman is absent.
  • Proficient with Capstan Hoist.
  • Proficient with Gin Pole.
  • Learn how to SWEEP, PIM, Fiber Test, Volt Meter.
  • Lead the crew on the tower.
  • Understand and comply with DOT regulations.
  • Perform tasks of Tower Tech I and Tower Tech II as needed and lead by example to facilitate timely job completion.
  • Learn and assist with Tower Foreman tasks; Fill in for Tower Foreman as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Three years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Use hand and power tools proficiently.
  • Follow directions well.
  • Learn basic tasks quickly.
  • DOT Eligible.
  • Training in RF, COMTRAIN, First Aid, CPR.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
  • Ability to travel and work weekends as needed.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Use of PM gear, SWEEP gear, Fiber Test gear, climbing gear, capstan hoist, rigging, load ropes
  • Utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard.
  • Lift and carry up to 75 lbs at heights 100ft and above.
  • Work environment is outside exposed to the elements with wind noise.
