Description:

McClure Engineering is currently seeking a Technician to work on a wide range of projects involving complex buildings. The ideal candidate will enjoy coordinating with the other disciplines and team members assigned to their projects as well as continued learning to ensure the best design and engineering solutions are provided. The McClure team takes pride in the depth and breadth of knowledge on its bench and believes engineering excellence is driven by the fundamentals of math and science along with the intuition about all things mechanical/electrical.


This position will require the successful candidate to be comfortable working on active construction sites and in performing electrical installation checkout and quality control on equipment. A basic understanding of electrical systems and equipment is required. The candidate will also coordinate with on site personnel including engineers and contractors. Some additional responsibilities include:


· Document electrical system installations for accuracy

· Inspect variety of electrical installations and components to ensure items have been accomplished according to design and specifications

· Complete Punch Lists to ensure quality control and consistency of electrical elements

· Photograph and document incorrect installations for review

· Effectively communicate with on site staff about problematic installs and additional notifications

· coordinate with internal and external members on the project

· Possess a basic understanding of NEC and practices

· Maintain a strong attention to detail

Requirements:

Technical or Associates degree from an accredited technical institution or college is required. Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Engineering Technology or Construction Management is also acceptable.


· 2+ years’ experience in construction with preference in electrical including (familiarity with commercial construction systems).

· Familiar with Electrical Systems

· Experience working on construction sites

· Proficiency in MS Office

· Strong communication skills


The Work Environment:

· Work environment is primarily at construction sites where hard-hat and other safety gear is often required. (PPE is provided by firm.)

· While performing field work associated with this position employee will be required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl and carry and/or climb ladders of varying heights. The employee may lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
