Job description

About the role:

As a Principal Electrical Instrumentation & Controls Engineer you will be a technical member responsible for the design, optimization, and reliability of instrumentation, control systems, and electrical systems supporting manufacturing processes.

You will report to the Electrical Engineering Manager and be located at either our Cranberry Township, PA; Columbia, SC; or Rock Hill, SC facility. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, blending remote flexibility with regular on-site collaboration at one of these Westinghouse offices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support upgrade projects involving I&C and power activities.
  • Implement rapid response plant modifications from the design phase through installation and startup.
  • Perform engineering design and analysis and propose solutions to complex problems.
  • Coordinate and direct the efforts of designers and craft personnel during implementation of projects.
  • Create project schedules and budgets. Track progress and spending.
  • Develop scopes of work and bid packages.
  • Support and work with other plant groups including Operations, Maintenance, Work Management and Reliability Engineering.
  • Participate in hazard and safety analysis reviews.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 8+ years of industrial or manufacturing experience
  • Expertise in instrumentation, controls, and power systems
  • Experience with DCS/PLC platforms
  • Knowledge of electrical distribution systems and process control principles

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $103,200 to $129,000 per year.
