Our team offers a variety of MEP and process piping services, including design-build engineering for new construction and renovation, installation and specialty construction, maintenance, and air balancing, start-up, and energy efficiency services.

Job Summary

DeBra-Kuempel isย seekingย to fillย an Electrical Service Manager position.ย The Electrical Service Managerย is responsible forย leading and managing the electrical service department for a union signatory electrical contractor. This role oversees day to day service operations, supervises union electrical personnel, ensures compliance with collective bargaining agreements, and delivers high quality, safe, and profitable electrical service work. The position requires strong technicalย expertise, leadership skills, customer relationship management, and a solid understanding of union work rules and safety standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Service Operations & Project Managementย 
  • Plan, schedule, and manage electrical service work including troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades, and small projects.ย 
  • Coordinateย manpower, tools, materials, and equipment to meet job requirements and schedules.ย 
  • Review daily service reports, work orders, and job costs to ensure accuracy and profitability.ย 
  • Support estimating, pricing, andย changeย orders for electrical service work.ย 
  • Ensure all workย complies withย NEC, local codes, company standards, and customer specifications.ย 
  • Union Workforce Leadershipย 
  • Supervise, mentor, and support union electricians,ย foremen, and apprentices.ย 
  • Workย in accordance withย the applicable collective bargaining agreement (CBA), hiring hall procedures, and jurisdictional requirements.ย 
  • Coordinate with union representatives as needed to maintain positive labor relations.ย 
  • Ensure properย manpowerย levels, training, and skill alignment for service tasks.ย 
  • Promote a culture of professionalism, accountability, and craftsmanship consistent with union standardsย 
  • Safety & Complianceย 
  • Enforce all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and union safety requirements.ย 
  • Lead safety meetings and ensure jobsite hazard assessments are completed.ย 
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and customer complaints, implementing correctiveย actionsย as necessary.ย 
  • Promote continuous improvement in safety performance and trainingย 
  • Complete company directed annual safety trainingย 
  • Complete (4) monthly site safety visitsย ย 
  • Customer Relations & Business Developmentย 
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for service customers and facility managers.ย 
  • Build andย maintainย strong relationships with existing clients.ย 
  • Respond to service requests, proposals, and emergency calls in a professional andย timelyย manner.ย 
  • Identifyย opportunities to expand service work, maintenance agreements, and repeat business.ย 
  • Collaborate with estimating and leadership teams to grow the electrical service department.ย 
  • Administrative & Financial Oversightย 
  • Track service job costs, productivity, and departmental performance metrics.ย 
  • Assistย in budgeting, forecasting, and labor planning for the service department.ย 
  • Ensure proper documentation including work orders, timesheets, permits, and close out paperwork.ย 
  • Utilize service management or work order software effectively.ย 
Qualifications
  • General Foreman, Journeyman or Master Electrician background preferred.ย 
  • Extensiveย hands onย experience in commercial or industrial electrical service work.ย 
  • Prior supervisory or management experience in a union electrical environmentย stronglyย preferred.ย 
  • Thorough understanding of:ย 
  • National Electrical Code (NEC)ย 
  • OSHA safety standardsย 
  • Union work rules and CBAsย 
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.ย 
  • Ability to manage multiple service jobs and priorities simultaneously.ย 
  • Time management skillsย ย 
  • Attention to detail for service documentationย ย
