Job description

SERVICE TRUCK DRIVER / ELECTRICIAN

BCI Electrical is growing and looking for a dependable, experienced Service Truck Driver / Electrician to join our team!

BCI Electrical provides commercial electrical construction, service, and maintenance throughout the Kansas City Metro area and surrounding Northeast Kansas. We have a strong backlog of work and are looking for an experienced electrician who can confidently operate a service truck, respond to customer needs, troubleshoot electrical problems, and complete service work safely and professionally.

THE POSITION

The Service Truck Driver / Electrician will be responsible for responding to commercial electrical service calls, diagnosing electrical problems, performing repairs and installations, and maintaining a professional relationship with customers.

This position requires someone who is self-motivated, dependable, organized, and comfortable working independently while representing BCI Electrical in the field.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Operate and maintain a company electrical service truck
  • Respond to commercial electrical service calls
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and diagnose problems
  • Perform electrical repairs, maintenance, and installations
  • Install and repair electrical components, wiring, conduit, panels, disconnects, lighting, and devices
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
  • Identify parts and materials needed to complete service work
  • Communicate with customers regarding service needs and completed work
  • Maintain accurate service documentation and paperwork
  • Keep the service truck properly stocked, clean, and organized
  • Coordinate with the Service Manager and other BCI personnel
  • Maintain a professional appearance and attitude while representing BCI
  • Follow all applicable electrical codes and BCI safety procedures
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Complete work efficiently while maintaining BCI's standards for quality and workmanship

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 5+ years of commercial electrical experience preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience performing commercial electrical service work
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple service calls
  • Good customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings
  • Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
  • Professional appearance and attitude
  • Ability to safely operate a company service vehicle
  • Ability to work in commercial construction and service environments
