Job description

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS ROLE:
As an Electrical Designer at nVent Management Company, you will be at the forefront of crafting inventive electrical solutions that ensure a more secure world. This position offers an outstanding opportunity to work with dedicated teams on world-class projects in Madison. You will strictly adhere to industry standards and collaborate with a dynamic group to deliver flawless builds!
  • Build functional electrical systems that meet customer specifications, internal standards, and applicable electrical codes.
  • Build and review initial electrical drawing sets to ensure accuracy, completeness, and readiness for customer submittal.
  • Develop wiring diagrams, schematics, and equipment schedules using SolidWorks Electrical (SWE), AutoCAD Electrical, or equivalent.
  • Use engineering judgment when performing calculations and layouts, including conduit and wire fill requirements according to the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Review project specifications and communicate potential impacts or updates related to the build to project team members.
  • Collaborate with project teams to provide technical insights, clarify build intent, and support issue resolution.
  • Support drafting and layout development by coordinating with CAD techs as needed.
  • Manage multiple tasks and priorities while contributing to timely delivery and continuous improvement.

YOU HAVE:
  • An academic background in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience with electrical build or systems, preferred.
  • Experience working with electrical drawings, schematics, and documentation in an engineering, manufacturing, or construction environment, preferred.
  • Knowledge of power distribution equipment, breaker panels, disconnects, transfer switches, and cable management products.
  • Experience working in a collaborative environment with multi-functional teams (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards, including the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate, well-organized build documentation.
