About This Role

A leading automotive manufacturer is seeking an execution-focused Engineer for modifications and construction activities within paint booths at its Blue Springs, MS facility. You will execute and manage paint booth modification projects โ€” including structural and airflow improvements โ€” working with sheet metal structures and large components inside the booth environment. From investigating feasibility and developing scopes of work and bid packages, through reviewing technical drawings, negotiating changes, and supervising contractors in green-field and brown-field environments, you will drive projects to completion against schedule milestones and safety-code compliance.

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or relevant discipline), technical trade certification, or equivalent experience
  • Hands-on engineering background combined with trade experience (practical, execution-focused)
  • 3+ years in a manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of project management, preferably managing projects valued at $500K or more
  • Commercial construction experience
  • 2+ years of technical drawing review experience; AutoCAD proficiency (review/modify)
  • Bid spec development and contractor negotiation; Microsoft Office proficient
  • Preferred: OSHA 10/30; automotive paint process; sheet metal / trades; controlled environments (paint booths); airflow & environmental controls
