Job Summary

Our client is seeking a Construction Craft Trainer – Electrical to deliver advanced electrical construction craft training in classroom, distance learning, and field environments. This role is responsible for developing curriculum, evaluating student performance, mentoring instructors, and supporting apprenticeship program operations while ensuring compliance with training, accreditation, and regulatory requirements.

Job Description
  • Deliver advanced instruction in electrical construction craft theory, power distribution, transformers, troubleshooting, and industrial electrical systems
  • Develop and enhance training curriculum using effective instructional methods
  • Evaluate student performance and recommend improvements to training materials
  • Mentor and guide less experienced instructors
  • Support program quality, accreditation, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Manage apprenticeship program activities, including enrollment, application processing, scheduling, and progress tracking
  • Maintain accurate apprenticeship documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements
  • Assist in developing new training materials and instructional content
  • Deliver training in classroom, distance learning, and field environments
Skills Required
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant electrical construction craft experience
  • Experience in open shop and/or union environments
  • Extensive journey-level or technician-level electrical construction experience
  • More than 3 years of teaching experience in a vocational or technical construction craft program
  • Ability to obtain and maintain NCCER Construction Craft Instructor Certification
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Experience creating and delivering digital training materials
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, WebEx, or similar virtual training platforms
  • Strong computer literacy and instructional technology skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in both in-person and virtual environments
  • Bilingual skills preferred
  • Basic electrical construction craft background and understanding
  • Previous experience in an electrical construction craft role is preferred
  • Interest in training and developing the next generation of craft workers
  • Ability to work remotely one week per month
Education/Training/Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (additional industry experience may be considered instead of a degree)
  • NCCER Construction Craft Instructor Certification preferred or the ability to obtain and maintain certification
Additional Requirements
  • Must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements, which may include a criminal/civil background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Willingness to travel 70% or more (Monday–Friday), with weekends at home
