We're looking for an experienced Building Operations Manager who is a hands-on leader with a passion for problem-solving, team development, and operational excellence. In this role, you'll oversee maintenance, housekeeping, laundry, grounds, janitorial, and security services while ensuring our community remains safe, compliant, and operating at its very best. What You'll Do

As the Building Operations Manager, you will:

  • Provide leadership and oversight for housekeeping, maintenance, laundry, grounds, janitorial, and security operations.
  • Recruit, hire, train, coach, schedule, and develop a high-performing Building Operations team.
  • Establish and maintain department policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Develop and manage preventative maintenance programs to maximize the life and performance of campus buildings, equipment, and systems.
  • Manage departmental budgets and identify opportunities to improve efficiency while maintaining high-quality service.
  • Coordinate building repairs, renovations, and capital projects, including obtaining bids, managing contractors, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Ensure compliance with Life Safety Codes, OSHA regulations, and all applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Oversee waste management programs, including recycling, hazardous materials, and infectious waste disposal.
  • Serve as the community's Emergency Preparedness Coordinator by maintaining emergency plans and coordinating drills and response readiness.
  • Partner with department leaders to support the overall success of the community and deliver exceptional service to residents and their families.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and reliable transportation.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical or vocational training in facilities management, building trades, or business.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager (CHFM), Facility Management Administrator (FMA), or similar credentials.
  • Previous supervisory experience in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or facilities management.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, landscaping, floor care, laundry operations, and general building maintenance.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to frequently walk, stand, bend, climb, and move throughout the community.
  • Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Safely operate or oversee the use of hand and power tools and maintenance equipment.
  • Work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to respond to maintenance issues and emergency situations as needed.
  • May occasionally be exposed to cleaning chemicals, bloodborne pathogens, and other environmental hazards while following appropriate safety procedures.

This is a full-time position with standard business hours, generally Monday through Friday. The successful candidate will also participate in a rotating evening on-call schedule and may be required to work occasional weekends and holidays to support the needs of the community.
