The Opportunity

Lake Erie Electric of Michigan is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator / Project Manager to support high-impact commercial and industrial electrical work across union project environments. In this role, you will help drive projects from bid through closeout, balancing estimating accuracy, operational planning, and field coordination. You will work with a respected third-generation, family-owned electrical contractor known for delivering complex work across commercial, industrial, and automotive sectors.

How You Will Make an Impact
  • Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents to develop accurate and competitive cost estimates

  • Build and manage bids using industry tools such as AccuBid and Viewpoint

  • Oversee project execution from preconstruction through closeout, helping ensure quality, safety, schedule, and budget performance

  • Coordinate with superintendents, vendors, and internal teams to manage labor planning, procurement, and project needs

  • Support contract administration through change orders, scope documentation, schedules of values, and project reporting

  • Maintain strong communication with clients and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle

  • Contribute both in the office and in the field depending on project phase, workload, and assignment

Required Qualifications & Experience
  • 5 to 7+ years of experience in electrical estimating, project management, or a closely related electrical construction role

  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and contract documents

  • Solid understanding of commercial and industrial electrical construction processes

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Willingness to travel for site visits and project needs; travel is typically limited, but may increase depending on project assignment

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience working on union electrical projects or in union-aligned commercial/industrial environments

  • Strong candidates from non-union commercial/industrial backgrounds will also be considered

  • Proficiency with AccuBid, Viewpoint, and Microsoft 365, especially Excel and Word

  • Trade program, apprenticeship, or technical training in electrical construction or a related field

  • Experience supporting projects ranging from several hundred thousand dollars to major multi-million-dollar programs.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid office-and-field role. Depending on the size and phase of the work, responsibilities may include office-based estimating, project management, site walks, and jobsite coordination. Some assignments may require increased travel or temporary support for larger out-of-town programs.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance.

  • 401(k) Retirement Savings Program with employer matching and Profit Sharing.

  • Paid Time Off including Holidays, Vacation, and Sick leave.
